How It Works

Everything you need to know about the Judge Selection Program.

⚖️ Your Role

As a judge in the Gray Gavel Society Judge Selection Program, you will review résumés submitted by Drexel University undergrad students and rank your top three choices. Each judge independently selects students — there is no right or wrong answer. Your instinct and professional experience are the only criteria.

🟢 Profile Status Dots

Every student card has a colored dot next to their name showing how complete their submission is:

Green — Profile fully complete and résumé uploaded. Ready to review.

Yellow — Some information filled in but incomplete. May be missing résumé or details.

Red — Account created but profile barely filled in.

🏆 Ranking Your Top 3

You can rank up to 3 students in order of preference:

#1 First Choice — Your top pick. This is your primary selection.

#2 Second Choice — Your backup if your first choice is taken.

#3 Third Choice — Your third option if both above are taken.

To rank a student, click "+ Rank #1" (or #2, #3) on their card. You can remove or change rankings at any time before the deadline.

🔒 "Taken" Students

If a student shows Taken on their card, another judge has already selected them as their #1 choice. You can still rank them as your #2 or #3, but they will not be available as a primary selection. The program coordinator will handle any conflicts.

👤 Viewing Student Profiles

Click View Profile on any student card to see their full profile including their personal statement, background, and a link to download their résumé PDF. Take your time reviewing — there is no rush.

⏳ Selection Deadline & Random Assignment

All judges are expected to rank their top 3 students before the submission deadline. If you have not made your selections by the deadline, you will be automatically and randomly assigned an unselected student.

To avoid random assignment, please complete your rankings under Browse Students before the deadline. The deadline is set by the program coordinator and will be visible on this portal.

When on, only @drexel.edu email addresses can create student accounts.

Set a deadline date. After this date, students will not be able to create accounts or submit résumés.

🎲 Random Assignment

Judges with no picks made at all will be randomly assigned an unselected student. This ensures every judge is matched. Judges who have made at least one pick are left as-is.
